Our friends from the „Sofia Blues Baseball and Softball Club“once again showed that they support the Bulgarian Organization of Voluntary Blood Donation by linking their commemorative event „Blues for Emo“ with the cause for raising awareness about voluntary blood donation in Bulgaria.

We would like to especially thank the President of the club Stefan Beshkov, who gave the idea to present the problem with lack of blood in Bulgaria and the need for popularizing voluntary blood donation at the now traditional baseball event that is held every year in memory of Emil Nassapov – the Founder of the club. We are happy that during our short address to players and fans we were able to introduce them to the activities of BOVBD and to explain to them the increasing need for blood in Bulgaria .

We are grateful to the organizers for the invite and their empathy and will to join our efforts in this difficult mission. It is especially significant to us that the Sofia Blues players  expressed their intent and wish to participate again ina blood donation campaign. We remind you that players of the club were among the first to donate blood during the start of last years’ spring blood donation campaign as friends and partners of BOVBD.

We call upon all of you to follow their example, because blood has no substitute!
