Bulgarian organization of voluntary blood donation officially supported the Spring voluntary blood donation campaign that began today, March 15th. The campaign is organized by the National transfusion hematology center, the Ministry of Health and the Bulgarian Red Cross. Members of the organization took part in the campaign by donating blood.
We would like to give our special thanks to the baseball players of Sofia Blues baseball club who supported the initiative as partners of BOVBD and expressed their position of responsible and compassionate citizens by donating blood in the first day of the campaign. We hope that their example would be followed by many other current and future donors during this initiative, as well as future campaigns for voluntary, non-remunerated blood donation.
The Spring campaign will go on until May 24th. A part of it includes the national competition for journalists under under the motto “Blood donation – a gift of Life!”. The deadline for participation has been extended until March 20th 2011. All materials should be sent to ncth_bg@abv.bg. You can find out more about the competition here.
