„DONATE BLOOD“ PROJECT

Bulgarian Organization of Voluntary Blood Donation (BOVBD) is pleased to announce the start of the „Donate Blood „project. As a main part of the project you will see the first of its kind mobile phone application, created to facilitate those who are willing to donate blood, as well as to help those who need blood donors for themselves or their relatives. The„Darikruv” application, developed by our partners „Digimark” LTD., is available completely free of charge for all iPhone users.
After the official announcement of the project and the media presentations, you will learn more details about the application and the whole project, which, we hope, will help make the finding of the necessary blood donors become far quicker, easier and more effective.
The „Darikruv” application has two main functionalities. On one part it is intended for the voluntary blood donors, who can register and thus state their will to help those who need blood. On the other, the ones who need blood and their relatives can register a call for help, for which the registered voluntary blood donors will be notified.
Bulgaria ranks among the last countries in Europe regarding blood donation with the number of blood donors being a mere 22 per 1000 people. Most of them donate blood only for relatives and friends who are in need and the real number of true voluntary blood donors is just 25% of the registered donors.
With the „Donate Blood” project we can all try and mark the beginning of a new reality in Bulgaria!
